Each year, as the holidays approach, we trot out stories about Father Christmas and St. Nicolas, Yule logs and mistletoe. This year I wanted to look into some of the stranger traditions of the holiday season - many of which are still practiced today in small villages and hamlets.

Galicia The 7th Celtic Nation

Look to the northwest of Spain, just north of Portugal, and south of the Bay of Biscay. There you will find Spanish Galicia. Are the people who live here the remnants of a Celtic people, pushed by conquering Roman legions until their backs were to the sea?
